Current scope

The website includes a course catalog and a custom Django student portal hosted on Render. The portal handles student accounts, enrollment, lesson progress, worksheets, instructor feedback, revision history and available downloads. New paid enrollment uses Stripe Checkout. We will update this policy before introducing materially different data collection.

Information received and its use

If you email us, we receive your email address, the name you supply, and the message and attachments you choose to send. We use these to answer questions, provide support, handle accessibility requests, and keep a record of the correspondence. Please send only information needed for your request.

Student-account and course records include your email address, account and verification information, enrollment and access dates, lesson progress, worksheet drafts and submissions, revisions, and instructor feedback. We use these records to administer accounts and course access, save progress, receive and review work, display submission and feedback history, and provide available worksheet downloads. Instructors and course administrators use the relevant records for these functions. Purchase records include checkout and payment references, amounts and status for enrollment administration and billing support.

Opening a web page sends technical requests to its host and included resource providers. These requests disclose network information such as an IP address, browser request information, and the requested resource. Providers may process request logs and technical identifiers to deliver, operate and protect their services. This is distinct from information you deliberately send by email.

Hosting, cookies and third-party resources

Render hosts the Django website and student portal and processes hosting requests and stored portal records. The portal uses session and CSRF cookies for sign-in and form protection. Stripe processes payment information through its hosted checkout. Zoho provides business email delivery and storage, including account messages and support correspondence.

You may use your browser's cookie and tracking controls; blocking cookies or resources may affect sign-in, forms or checkout. Hosting, payment and email providers process information to operate their services and apply their own practices. This policy does not promise that those services are free of cookies or technical identifiers.

Who receives information and how

Render processes website and portal data for hosting. Stripe receives the checkout and payment information needed to process an order; the portal receives payment status and references used to confirm enrollment. Payment-card details are entered with Stripe, not in portal worksheet or support forms. Email is transmitted through Zoho and the email services used by you; those services process correspondence to deliver and store it. CCLinguists LLC receives your portal records and the email and attachments you send to its support inbox. These service-provider disclosures are different from sharing records with a sponsoring employer or partner company.

We do not sell student information or share individual student details or work with partner companies. A company sponsorship or coupon does not authorize employer access to a student's records. We may disclose information when required by applicable law or a valid legal process.

Retention

Course access and record retention are separate. The 60-day access period does not mean all associated records will be deleted on day 60. Our policy is to retain enrollment records and submitted student work indefinitely for course administration and recordkeeping, subject to applicable legal limits and individual requests that require deletion or other action.

Support correspondence is kept for follow-up and business recordkeeping; no fixed automatic deletion period is currently promised. Hosting and email providers may apply their own log, storage and backup retention practices. To ask about a record or request deletion, email info@culturesandlanguages.com. We will assess the request and explain any applicable legal or recordkeeping exception rather than promise immediate removal from all backups.

Security and safe communication

The public website uses HTTPS to protect data in transit between your browser and the site. HTTPS does not guarantee the security of your device, email, providers or stored records. Payment-card details are entered through Stripe Checkout. Do not send payment credentials, passwords, sensitive identity documents, or confidential client or case information to our support inbox or in course work. We do not claim end-to-end email encryption, a certified secure learning system, or that any internet service is completely secure.

Your questions and requests

Email info@culturesandlanguages.com to ask about your information or request access, correction or deletion. Describe the request without including unnecessary sensitive information. We may need proportionate information to verify that the request concerns your records. Requests will be handled subject to applicable law; contacting us does not require consenting to advertising or employer disclosure.

Changes

We will post updates here with a revised effective date. New assessment, recording or other materially different collection features will require disclosures reflecting their actual operation before collection begins. Please review this page before using a newly introduced service.
